If a prostitute was forgiven, so will you if you do this

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "A prostitute was forgiven by Allah, because, passing by a panting dog near a well and seeing that the dog was about to die of thirst, she took off her shoe, and tying it with her head-cover she drew out some water for it. So, Allah forgave her because of that." (Bukhari)

MashaAllah! How incredible! Rhetorically, all Muslims believe that prostitution (zina) is unlawful (haram ) for anyone, it is even among the greatest sins in Islam. But, Allah al Rahman al Gafoor forgave a prostitute because of her act of giving some water to a thirsty dog. An act that seems trivial to us turns out to be the cause of a great sin to be forgiven. How could that be? This is because Allah is ar Rahman, the Most Compassionate, al Raheem the Most Merciful, and al Gafoor the Oft-Forgiving.

If a prostitute can be forgiven owing to her mercy to a dog, won't we be more blessed and gain a lot more reward if we show our compassion and mercy to man especially to the weak or needy one?

Keep in mind that Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him said, “The merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One in the heavens will have mercy upon you.” (Tirmidhi)

And Abdullah ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him said, “The Muslim is the brother of his fellow Muslim; he does not wrong him or let him down. The one who meets the needs of his brother, Allah will meet his needs. Whoever relieves a Muslim of distress, Allah will relieve him of distress on the Day of Resurrection.” (Bukhari Muslim)

And among the weakest and neediest people, there are orphans whom Allah honored in the Qur'an. And Allah himself gives a ruling in taking care of the orphans.

"So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]." (QS Adh Dhuha: 9)

"Indeed, those who devour the property of orphans unjustly are only consuming into their bellies fire. And they will be burned in a Blaze." (QS An Nisa: 10)

"And do not approach the property of an orphan, except in the best way, until he reaches maturity. And fulfill [every] commitment. Indeed, the commitment is ever [that about which one will be] questioned." (QS al-Isra: 34)

Even our Prophet was an orphan and he loved the orphans.

It was narrated from Sahl ibn Sa’d that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I and the one who sponsors an orphan will be like this in Paradise,” and he gestured with his index and middle fingers. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, no. 5659.

And there are more ayah and hadeeth that tell us about the virtue of feeding and helping the orphans. So what are we going to do after this?
